BLVCK VIOLET is an alt-pop duo formed in January 2022 by Harrison Walker and Sam Hurst. Initially connecting over Zoom, the duo, based in Dorset, has crafted a distinctive sound that blends heavy beats with smooth melodies, creating a unique fusion of genres. Their music pairs upbeat, infectious instrumentals with emotionally resonant, introspective lyrics, establishing a style that is all their own.

 

Known for their engaging live performances, BLVCK VIOLET’s reputation continues to grow, capturing the attention of diverse audiences. Their live shows have notably caught the ear of BBC Radio 1’s producers, earning them a spot in the top 5 of a national competition to perform on the Live Lounge. The duo draws inspiration from a range of artists, including Post Malone, Sam Tompkins, Holly Humberstone, and Jeremy Zucker. 

 

With their impressive 2024 Spotify Wrapped statistics, including over 1 million total streams and 316,000 listeners, they are poised for an exciting year ahead in 2025.

 

In addition to their own music, Sam and Harrison are expanding their creative horizons as songwriters and producers, collaborating with other emerging artists. They are currently in discussions with the teams of GRACEY and Caity Baser to explore potential songwriting sessions in 2025. Additionally, they are working with a diverse group of up-and-coming artists spanning genres from pop-rock to drum and bass.
